I've been active in amateur ("ham") radio since I was a teenager. My current station uses a wire antenna 265 feet long, suspended about 40 feet in the air. The feed point has a toroidal coil known as a "balun" (balenced/unbalanced) that the antenna wires and feed cable connect to.
I installed the balun in 2022, housed in a 3D-printed case to protect it and the soldered connections from the weather.
This composite photo shows:
The black "blobs" seen in the right photo seal holes to keep water out of the case. The bottom cover has a drain hole for any water that does get in. The hole is covered by a small piece of green plastic kitchen scrubber to prevent bugs from entering.
